TRANSPORT
School Bus
We have a school bus that children are able to catch to and from school each day. There is no charge for those who live within the transport entitlement zone, however if you live out of the zone, there is a cost of $100 per child per term. Please contact the office or the principal to check which category you fall in to.
Generally, you need to live at least 3.2 km away from school and we must be the closest school for you to qualify for the free bus service.
Our bus travels part way down Aotearoa Road, Waipapa Road,Wharepapa South to Seafund Road, and half way down Owairaka Valley Road. Get in touch if you need more info in regards to bus eligibility.
Tech Arts Bus
Our year 7 and 8 students are given an opportunity to attend Tech Arts at the Te Awamutu Intermediate during Terms 3 and 4. If we have at least 9 students going, we qualify for a bus, but any less than that means that we rely on parents to take the students to and from tech arts each week.
Class and School Trips
We do our best at Wharepapa South School to ensure we capture the curiosity of our students through learning IN and OUTSIDE of the classroom. At times, this might mean a visit to the museum, local bush walks or an annual camp. We don't own a school bus, so we rely on our school families to help out with transport for these to happen.
Drivers must hold a valid full licence and use a car that has a current WOF and Rego for the trip.
